About the role
We are seeking an experienced commercial real estate lawyer to support our corporate practice in Brisbane. This is a unique chance for a successful candidate to help grow a regulatory and project-focused practice, working in a high-performing team alongside Partner Tom Young. Our team has extensive expertise in cutting-edge aviation and transport, tourism and hospitality, mining, infrastructure, and real estate matters, with a focus on Brisbane hosting the 2032 Olympics.
We are looking for an ambitious lawyer who recognises the advantages and opportunities of building a career with a global firm that is focused on growing its presence in Australia under its new Australian CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act for international and domestic clients from various industries;
* Draft documents and advise on expressions of interest, requests for tender, and heads of agreement;
* Advise on complex transactions for major developers, airport operators, hotel, tourism, and resort owners and operators;
* Advise on capital transactions involving acquisitions and disposals of development sites and built-form commercial, industrial, and retail assets;
* Advise on a range of corporate, commercial, and real estate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, bespoke commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and service contracts;
* Interact with clients and liaise with colleagues in other offices and practice areas around the globe;
* Work with Tom Young on marketing initiatives targeting client growth and development and meeting with industry leaders;
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience in a similar firm and 4+ years' post-admission experience in real estate. Corporate law experience is not essential but desirable.
You are an ambitious self-starter with technical skills and able to work in a high-performing team to deliver quality outcomes for clients. You are commercially astute, have a strong eye for detail, and will be a valuable team member. You are collaborative in your approach while also demonstrating the ability to work autonomously and take a lead role in matters.
You are an excellent communicator with a strong desire to learn and get involved across all aspects of the practice.
