Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Environmental Advisor. This role will see you become an integral part of team, living and working residentially with a working roster of 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off - 9 hour shifts

The Role
Join our Mount Isa Mines HSEC team as an Environmental Advisor, where you will play a critical role in supporting environmental compliance, driving positive environmental outcomes, and maintaining our licence to operate. This residential position offers the opportunity to work closely with operational teams, implement environmental systems, and influence environmental performance across TSF, Surface Operations, Demolition/Rehabilitation, Land Disturbance Permits, and Cultural Heritage management.
The successful candidate will be responsible to:
Demonstrate strong safety behaviours, aligning with all HSEC policies and proceduresBuild and manage effective relationships with internal teams, consultants, and contractorsProvide clear, accurate environmental advice on compliance, risk, and improvement opportunitiesAssist in EA amendment applications and regulatory communications to support operational needsImplement and maintain environmental programs covering air quality, groundwater, surface water, biodiversity, and wasteConduct monitoring activities, analyse data, and report on environmental performanceEngage operational areas to identify environmental risks and improvement opportunitiesSupport cultural heritage approvals, notifications, and procedural reviews
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or related disciplineManual Driver's Licence2 years' experience within the environmental fieldHeavy industry or mining experience (desired)Strong communication and relationship-building capabilitiesExperience with environmental management systems, compliance, and legislationAbility to work independently and collaboratively while delivering consistent resultsSolid project management and contractor management skillsHigh safety focus and demonstrated hazard identification/reportingStrong analytical and data interpretation skills.
