Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above positions (part time or full time) in the Western Sydney Local Health District. The positions will be located at Westmead within the Department of Gynaecological Oncology.
The department of Gynaecological Oncology is part of Women's Health at Westmead Hospital. It is a statewide tertiary referral service for Western Sydney Local Health District and multiple LHDs throughout western NSW.
Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship 6 within months of the planned commencement date for the positions may be considered. If successful, the applicant may not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award, the Health Services Act 1997, and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.

Position Specific Selection Criteria requirements
- Must possess RANZCOG Certificate of Gynaecological Oncology (CGO) or equivalent.
- Must possess broad experience across gynaecological oncology, including high-level assessment, prioritisation, and surgical skills as demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Must have experience in a clinical research environment, including clinical trial design, protocol development, database development, and must be prepared to contribute to the department's research output and assist other staff in their research endeavors.
- Must have a demonstrated interest in training and education of registrars & fellows; be prepared to contribute to the education of fellows, registrars, residents, and nurses, including outside normal working hours.
- Must have a demonstrated interest in healthcare delivery systems.
- Must be prepared to provide occasional leave relief to other consultants as required by the Head of Department.
Selection Criteria
- Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
- Evidence of additional qualifications, skills, and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty.
- Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including:
- Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational, supervision, and collaboration skills with the ability to build respectful relationships.
- Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills, and professional performance to meet contemporary practice standards.
- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translating research into practice to improve patient safety and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently, contributing to the effectiveness of the healthcare system.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, including systems thinking, risk management, self-care, resilience, and team development.
