About the Role
This role is about more than maintenance – it's about transformation. It's a leadership position for a strong, energetic leader with exceptional business acumen who can align people, process and systems. As the Assets Manager, you will be responsible for strategy development and leading the standardisation and optimisation of asset performance, reliability and lifecycle costs across the Bis' fleet. You'll design forward-thinking asset strategies, ensure operational efficiency, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Working alongside senior leaders, commercial partners, and technical experts, you'll make decisions that drive both cost-effectiveness and fleet reliability.

* Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive an enterprise-wide asset strategy aligned to business needs
* Team Empowerment: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering growth and performance
* Zero Harm Focus: Champion a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards
* Data-Driven Insights: Oversee systems and reporting to drive performance and proactive decision-making
* Commercial Partnership: Align asset lifecycle planning with commercial goals and customer outcomes
* Innovation & Improvement: Continuously assess new technologies and practices to enhance efficiency
About You – Your Background & Experience
You are self-driven, strategic thinker with a structured approach to problem-solving. You will independently evaluate challenges, develop clear, actionable recommendations and engage effectively with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and outcomes.
What sets you apart is your proven leadership success in asset management preferably within heavy industry or mining. You excel in leading change and navigating challenges to drive performance.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise and bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
* Strategic mindset and strong business acumen with proven success in leading change in asset management
* Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills – comfortable driving cultural change
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a passion for transformation and collaboration
* In-depth understanding of asset management standards and underground coal legislation
* Structured thinking and systems approach with experience in maintenance systems
