About Red Cross

Australian Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian movement. We support and empower people and communities in times of vulnerability. We act for humanity.

How this role supports our work

The Business Partner – Workplace Relations (P&C) provides practical advice and support across workplace and industrial relations matters. The role works closely with P&C Business Partners and leaders to help manage people issues fairly, consistently and in line with relevant employment and industrial legislation.

With a strong focus on day to day problem solving, the role supports leaders, managers, staff and volunteers to understand and apply Red Cross people policies, industrial instruments and sound people practices. The emphasis is on early intervention, clear processes and good judgement, contributing to positive employee experiences and safe, respectful workplaces.

The role manages workplace relations matters such as performance concerns, misconduct, grievances, bullying, discrimination and EEO issues. Working alongside P&C Business Partners, WHS and specialist teams, the role also contributes to maintaining and improving policies, guidance materials, training resources and reporting to support compliant and consistent people practices across the organisation.

About you

You are an experienced workplace relations professional with a solid background in employee and industrial relations. You provide practical, balanced advice on employment legislation, industrial instruments, investigations and case management, helping leaders navigate sensitive matters with confidence and care.

The role is suited to candidates with a relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience gained in medium to large organisations. You are able to adapt your advice to different operating environments and work collaboratively to support safe, fair and psychologically healthy workplaces, enabling Australian Red Cross to deliver on its purpose.

You will bring
* Experience supporting workplace initiatives and change activities, including restructures or operational change
* Well developed analytical skills, with the ability to assess information, consider risks and provide clear, reasoned advice
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build trust, explain complex issues clearly and work effectively with a range of stakeholders
