Our client, Kraftur Pty Ltd is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their maintenance team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining a range of diesel-powered vehicles, plant and heavy machinery used across our operations. The ideal candidate is hands‐on, safety‐minded, and passionate about ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines, fuel systems, transmissions, hydraulics, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
* Service, maintain, and repair heavy vehicles, trucks, and construction plant equipment to ensure reliability and minimal downtime.
* Perform scheduled servicing, preventive maintenance, and safety inspections based on manufacturer guidelines and site requirements.
* Remove, dismantle, repair, and reassemble engines and major components, including clutches, gearboxes, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
* Conduct post‐repair testing, adjustments, and quality checks to ensure equipment is safe and operating efficiently.
* Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate service reports, job cards, and maintenance records, including parts used and work completed.
* Follow workplace safety procedures, compliance standards, and company policies at all times.
* Coordinate with supervisors and operations teams regarding repair schedules, breakdowns, and urgent maintenance needs.
Requirements for the Position:
* At least 3 years of proven experience in a similar role
* Trade Certified in Diesel Motor Mechanic
* Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
