The role involves managing emergency and critical care cases within a multidisciplinary specialty veterinary hospital, supporting complex medical cases daily. You will collaborate closely with specialists across surgery, oncology, neurology, radiology, and internal medicine departments, and supervise emergency veterinarians handling routine and urgent situations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage emergency and critical care cases in a multidisciplinary specialty veterinary hospital environment.
* Collaborate with surgeons, specialists, interns, nurses, and support teams during complex patient treatments.
* Supervise emergency veterinarians handling routine emergency presentations and urgent medical situations effectively.
* Utilize advanced diagnostic technologies, including MRI, CT imaging, ultrasound, and radiology systems regularly.
* Support intensive care treatment planning while maintaining high‐quality veterinary healthcare standards.
* Participate actively in collaborative discussions supporting patient recovery and emergency case management decisions.
* Contribute positively toward an inclusive, empathetic, and teamwork‐driven hospital culture daily.
Job Requirements
* Eligibility for veterinary registration within the South Australian professional regulatory authorities.
* Board certification in Emergency and Critical Care veterinary medicine from recognized professional institutions, or completion of an approved ECC residency with certification examination eligibility.
* Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills supporting multidisciplinary clinical healthcare environments.
