The EL2 Director, Data Platforms is a senior leadership position within the Analytics, Data and Actuarial Group. The primary responsibilities include oversight, maintenance, development, and success of the Agency's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The role involves leading the design, development, and operational management of EDW and related reporting and analytics platforms.
The EDW is a critical business system that enables NDIA divisions and external stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. It supports operational and policy decisions, making data quality, reliability, and timeliness essential for the efficient operation and effectiveness of the NDIS.
The data landscape at NDIA is dynamic, with ongoing development and enhancement projects often in collaboration with Data & Analytics colleagues. Team members are expected to work within agile, multidisciplinary squads.
The Director, Data Platforms has the authority to set strategic direction, establish design and delivery standards, manage risks, and seek opportunities across various priorities and stakeholders.
The role requires balancing high-quality daily operations, bespoke development for internal clients, solution consistency, and the platform's evolution and data capabilities.
Applicants must address the following selection criteria:
1. Excellent understanding of data platform architectures, technologies, and development methodologies, with the ability to communicate to non-technical audiences.
2. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
3. Effective collaboration with IT teams, analytics professionals, and senior business leaders.
4. Experience in building and leading teams, including mentoring and developing expertise.
5. Experience automating and scheduling operational processes, monitoring performance and quality against service levels.
