The Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC) is a Western Australian Government agency committed to promoting economic development in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia.
The GEDC works in partnership with government, industry, and the community to deliver investment and economic outcomes in the regions.
Regional Development Commission staff, including this position, are employees of DPIRD assigned to the Regional Development Commission under a staffing arrangement (section 29, of the Regional Development Commission Act 1993).
As the employing agency for these roles at the GEDC, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) lead the sustainable development of Western Australia’s regions and agriculture, aquaculture, food and fisheries sectors. About the opportunity
The GEDC is seeking experienced candidates at Level 4 and 5 for this Executive Officer pool for positions in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Esperance.
There is currently one (1) permanent full time Level 5 Executive Officer position available for immediate filling.
The pool may be used to fill other potential permanent and/or fixed term contract positions at Level 4 or Level 5.
The Executive Officer works across a variety of corporate services functions to fulfil the business needs of the GEDC. The position works closely with the Senior Management Team as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Candidates must demonstrate skills and experience relevant to the key responsibilities of the Executive Officer Job Description Form (JDF), to be considered for the pool.
This includes a high level of proficiency in financial administration and delivery of high quality and timely corporate services to teams, including staff, committees and Boards.
Experience with developing policies and procedures, preparing annual reports, managing and improving ICT and records management systems, managing procurement and office maintenance contracts, implementing migrations to new ICT systems, and project management frameworks, is beneficial for the role.

Being proactive and innovative, able to identify and implement solutions, where resourcing support may be limited and continuously seek opportunities to improve systems and processes.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information
DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of. normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian Citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.
