About the Role

Flinders University is seeking a motivated and research-active Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Climate Dynamics to contribute to high-quality teaching and impactful research aligned with the University's strengths in climate, environment, and sustainability.

This role will contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in the broad area of quantitative climate systems dynamics, with a focus on modelling and understanding the implications of climate change for ecosystems, biodiversity, sustainability, and human societies. The successful candidate will play a major role in delivering innovative, student-centred teaching while strengthening a research profile aligned with College priorities.

The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Climate Dynamics will contribute across:

* high-quality, ethical research in quantitative climate dynamics aligned with College research strengths;
* innovative, student-centred teaching using contemporary, flexible and multi-mode delivery;
* supervision and mentoring Honours and higher degree by research students (commensurate with level);
* collaboration and engagement with industry and external stakeholders to enhance teaching, learning, and research outcomes

This position is open to national and international candidates, and relocation and visa support could be available.

About You

You are an established academic with strong quantitative and computational skills and a passion for climate science and its societal and environmental impacts. You are collaborative, student-focused, and research-active, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to both education and scholarship.

Your expertise could align with areas such as quantitative climate modelling, ecosystem or biodiversity change, sustainability, socio-ecological systems, or climate impacts on human and health systems.

You will bring:

* a completed PhD or equivalent qualification in climate dynamics or a closely related quantitative discipline;
* demonstrated experience and effectiveness in tertiary teaching, including curriculum design and delivery across face-to-face and online modes;
* a research track record appropriate to career stage, including quality publications and engagement with competitive research funding;
* demonstrated knowledge in advanced quantitative techniques, statistical methodology, modelling complex systems, databasing, and interdisciplinary analytical frameworks;
* demonstrated knowledge of advanced computer coding
