**Be challenged and imagine with us**
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Work, Health and Safety Officer to manage and coordinate health and safety projects and processes across the College. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including the University's central WHS team, Research and Innovation precinct management, laboratory managers, and school staff, to ensure compliance and foster a positive safety culture.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Providing oversight of College workplace health and safety requirements and ensuring compliance with University policies and State regulations.
- Collaborating with the College WHS Committee on strategic priorities, including training, reporting, and safety initiatives.
- Reviewing and monitoring workplace activities to identify, report, and address safety concerns, ensuring risks are effectively managed.
- Overseeing the reporting, investigation, and correction of accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe working conditions.
- Project managing laboratory audits to ensure WHS compliance and address outstanding actions in collaboration with Laboratory Managers.
- Overseeing the safe operation of the PC2 Research Lab at the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute.
- Engaging with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in WHS processes and systems.
This fixed term position is full time at a HEW 6 Higher Education Level until February 2025, with a possibility of extension located at Callaghan Campus.
