The Senior Coastal Database Officer will work across the department's coastal regions to gather data, facilitate data base curation, create spatial information products and develop reports on the department's coastal protection assets. Working in the Statewide Coastal Programs Branch within the Barwon South West Region, the position will create and manage a comprehensive data set of coastal protection assets to support efficient asset management practices. This includes using a risk-based approach for decision making, and investment in, coastal protection asset maintenance, upgrades, replacements and disposals.
Accountabilities
- Oversees the curation of spatial data within the Coastal Asset Management System (CAMS) to implement efficient asset management practices from the Coastal Protection Asset Management plan that align with the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF).
- Responds to information requests, undertakes complex data analysis and prepares reports and correspondence to provide recommendations that impact at program or organisational level.
- Interprets and applies business plans and policies to own area of responsibility to meet business and operational objectives and priorities.
- Builds and maintains strong, collaborative working relationships with coastal programs staff across DEECA to support high quality and integrated data collection and management.
- Works collaboratively with regional and statewide teams to contribute to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer-focused, collaborative, professional and engaged.

- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in asset and project management.
- Proficiency in data curation, management and documentation.
- Experience in SQL to support analytics, reports and the development of BI dashboards is desirable.
