We're looking for a skilled Scientific Officer to join our team, a chance to apply your technical expertise to support essential Council operations
What You'll Do:
As a Scientific Officer, you will undertake routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, manage the workflow of an assigned testing section, and contribute specialist knowledge that enhances the laboratory's capability and performance. You will work collaboratively under the direction of the Senior Scientist, while exercising initiative, sound judgement and a strong commitment to quality, safety and customer service.

What We're Looking For:
* Tertiary qualification in a Science Field relevant to the position.
* Previous laboratory experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of NATA accredited laboratory quality systems.
* Sound knowledge of computers and standard software including spreadsheet, word processing and database programs.
* Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety as applied in the laboratory environment
* Ability to apply specialised knowledge and expertise to address client enquiries.
* Ability to work in a flexible, well organised and efficient manner with a high level of attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills with professional and technical staff.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including supervising others.
