Job Title: Mental Health Professional - Rural Psychiatry Training Program

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality mental health care in rural communities?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Trainee Psychiatrist in the Rural Psychiatry Training WA (RPTWA) program. You will work alongside experienced professionals to develop your skills and knowledge in generalist psychiatry, while providing specialist psychiatric care to clients in need.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment and management for clients requiring specialist psychiatric care under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist
- Work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary and medical teams to deliver comprehensive care to clients
- Commit to a length of training contract with WA Country Health Service (WACHS)
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a medical degree
- Current general registration as a medical practitioner in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand
- Completed two years (FTE) of general medical training at commencement of training
- Demonstrated desire to obtain knowledge of/and experience in biological and psychotherapeutic interventions
- Effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a multidisciplinary interest
- Demonstrated analytical ability
- Highly developed report writing and policy formulation skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated computer skills to enable management of medical and patient records, navigation of online policy access, internal communication and completing online learning resources
- Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence
- Understanding of the issues around providing Mental Health services with a rural community, including provision of culturally appropriate services to indigenous families and communities
- Knowledge of the Western Australian Mental Health Act 2014 and other related legislation
- Understanding of and experience of working within RANZCP policies and guidelines
- Relevant training or experience in education
