The Role
The school is flexible with days and work hours fulfilling the 0.2 FTE of this position.
As a Network Administrator, the successful applicant will manage the school's network infrastructure, including user access, privileges, and password maintenance.
They may be responsible for ensuring compliance with software licensing, Information Technology (IT) copyright obligations, and regulatory requirements, addressing any breaches as needed.
The role includes risk management, system backups, disaster recovery, and data security.
The successful applicant will provide technical advice on network issues, assist with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) inquiries, and work with the Department's IT Support to resolve hardware, software, and network problems.
The Network Administrator is encouraged to contribute to system improvements by researching and implementing suitable IT solutions, which may involve customising software, installing updates, and ensuring optimal system performance.
They should also be ready to respond to system failures promptly.
The role may include training staff in the use of IT systems, ideally through one-on-one support and self-help resources.
The Network Administrator may collaborate with staff to assess network needs and carry out routine maintenance, such as data backup, distribution, and retention.
Additional duties may include resolving IT issues, coordinating system updates, and liaising with external providers to ensure efficient network operations.
The ideal applicant would take a proactive approach to identifying risks and recommending improvements aligned with the school's IT goals.
