About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Financial Reporting team at our Preston Head Office. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Lead, this role plays a key part in supporting payroll tax compliance across all Australian states and territories, alongside general finance and reporting activities.

What You'll Be Doing
Payroll Tax Compliance
* Support the end-to-end payroll tax compliance process across all Australian jurisdictions
* Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax lodgements
* Prepare payroll tax calculations, including grouping provisions, contractor payments and fringe benefits
* Reconcile payroll data in collaboration with Payroll and Tax teams
* Assist with payroll tax audits and queries from state revenue authorities
* Maintain payroll tax documentation, checklists and internal controls
General Finance Support
* Perform month-end reconciliations for subsidiaries and resolve discrepancies
* Assist with financial analysis, reporting packs and data gathering
* Support journal entries, system updates and reporting processes
* Assist with other compliance matters, including BAS lodgements
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
What We're Looking For
* Experience in a finance support role within a corporate or professional services environment
* Exposure to payroll tax compliance and/or multi-state reporting (highly regarded)
* Strong reconciliation skills and understanding of accounting principles
* High attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines
* Confident communicator who builds strong working relationships
* Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment
