We are seeking a diligent Kitchen Assistant to join our team in the main production kitchen. As part of a talented team of chefs, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation and maintaining equipment, utensils, and a clean hygienic kitchen environment.
About the Opportunity
This role requires an enthusiastic individual who is willing to work a 7-day rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. You will be expected to perform tasks efficiently and maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare food according to recipes and presentation guidelines
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
* Rotate stock and minimize wastage to ensure efficient inventory management
* Follow directions from senior chefs and work collaboratively as part of a team
Requirements:
* Flexible availability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
* Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in a 4-5 star hotel or resort
* Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen operations, cleaning practices, and food safety procedures
* Ability to develop knife skills and a genuine passion for cooking, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
