Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer at our Maritime Sustainment line of business, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical equipment and systems. You will work collaboratively with the engineering team, production, sustainment, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure alignment with technical, schedule, and cost goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and collaborate on mechanical design aspects of engineering changes
* Utilize engineering tools (FEA, CAD) for design, analysis, and verification
* Mentor and guide junior engineers
* Conduct requirements analysis and produce detailed reports
* Support project management tasks and track progress
* Resolve engineering issues and deliver technical reports and presentations
* Ensure designs meet stakeholder requirements and regulatory standards
* Contribute to integration, validation, and testing plans for mechanical systems
* Define and manage qualification obligations during build, test, and commissioning
Required Skills and Qualifications
We are seeking a professional engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Naval Architecture, Marine or Aeronautical Engineering. Eligibility for graduate membership with Engineers Australia (IEAust) is also required. Proven experience in developing mechanical designs, participating in design reviews, performing design analyses, and implementing integrated, validated, and qualified solutions is essential.
