About the role We are seeking an enthusiastic Gardener to join our team at Rushall Park, Fitzroy North. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance the lives of our residents through the maintenance and development of our historic gardens. Further, the successful candidate will receive: Access to the tax benefits of salary packaging Access to professional development programs Be part of an organisation and a team that is driven to make a difference to the lives of others Key Responsibilities are as below: Comprehensive garden maintenance tasks such as lawn mowing, whipper snipping, hedging, pruning, spraying, weeding, planting, mulching, and irrigation. Engaging with residents to support their gardening interests and initiatives. Ensuring all gardening activities adhere strictly to safety and environmental protocols. Promoting our values of respect, community, kindness, and integrity through your work. Excellent knowledge of plants and species Ensure professional presentation and positive attitude to liaise with staff and residents Build and maintain good working relationships with residents, staff, and other stakeholders Assist in reviewing procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency Assist with any other reasonable task as required by the manager The right candidate must have: Certificate 3 or above, in Horticulture or related fields are advantageous. Experience in garden and plant care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with residents and team members. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Physical fitness to perform all outlined responsibilities effectively. A current Police Check is essential.
