An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Infection Prevention Control Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis.

About us


Brisbane Private is a 181-bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 17 operating theatres, conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands. Our specialties include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, Rehabilitation, and general surgery, along with Brisbane's leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Unit.


Responsibilities of the Infection Control Coordinator


1. Lead infection prevention & control practices and strategies.
2. Practice independently and collaboratively, assuming accountability for assigned portfolios under the leadership of the Quality and Risk manager.
3. Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team including doctors, managers, and community members.
4. Implement risk management strategies to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
5. Ensure hospital compliance with standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements, aiming for continuous improvement.
6. Coordinate and implement infection control programs, including staff health initiatives.
7. Manage NHHI Hand Hygiene training programs, including staff training and data validation.
8. Possess a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent and current registration with AHPRA.
9. Hold or be working towards an immunisation certificate.
10. Have at least 3 years of post-graduation clinical experience as an IPC Coordinator, Public Health, or Clinical Nurse in Infection Prevention and Control.
11. Demonstrate negotiation, conflict resolution, and complex issue management skills.
12. Apply Infection Prevention and Control Standards proactively, researching and directing trend and outbreak management.
13. Utilize audit findings to identify improvement opportunities and educational needs.
14. Understand ACQSHC National standards, especially Standards 2 & 3.
15. Exhibit confident interpersonal skills, demonstrating inclusivity, proactivity, and customer focus.
