Details: Are you passionate about shaping health policy and making a meaningful impact in end-of-life care? ACT Health is seeking a motivated and experienced person to lead strategic initiatives and collaborate across government and community sectors.

In this role, you will:

* Drive territory-wide coordination of palliative and end-of-life care policy and programs.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders across ACT Government and the community health sector.
* Provide high-level advice backed by research, consultation, and evaluation.
* Lead and manage governance arrangements and funding agreements related to palliative care.

As Assistant Director, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, using your strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

* Experience working in palliative care or supporting people at end of life is highly desirable.
* Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge

* Advanced conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to think strategically and make sound judgements in sensitive and complex areas, and experience in producing strategic policy advice of a high standard. Demonstrated experience in planning, development and implementation of policy initiatives, programs, and projects, in a complex and dynamic environment with minimal supervision under tight timeframes.
* Well-developed consultation, negotiation and liaison skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
* Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, and the ability to prepare accurate high level written advice on complex matters, and a range of strategic and policy documents in a government setting.

Behavioural Capabilities

* Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to effectively manage competing priorities, and flexibility to balance workloads to help meet broader team objectives as required.
* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work sensitively and fairly with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
* Demonstrated experience in and/or ability to support, lead and mentor staff.
* A demonstrated commitment to work, health and safety (WH&S) and behaviour consistent with the ACT Public Service Values and Signature Behaviours.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
