Wall and Floor Tiler Position Summary
The primary role of a Wall and Floor Tiler involves installing tiles in accordance with customer requirements, layouts, and specifications. Key responsibilities include measuring, marking out the area, arranging tiles in patterns, cutting tiles to precise sizes and shapes using relevant tools, working with various types of tiles, cleaning and preparing walls and floors, removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive, filling holes or cracks for a smooth base, and conducting thorough cleaning.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Install tiles as per customer order/specifications, patterns, layouts
* Prepare job site by measuring, marking out the area, and arranging the tiles in patterns as per work order
* Cutting tiles to the required sizes and shapes using relevant tools
* Working with different types of tiles such as travertine, porcelain, limestone, ceramic, Mosaic
* Cleaning, prepping and priming walls and floors, including removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive, filling holes or cracks for a smooth base, and performing general cleaning
* Attention to detail - ensuring that tiles are spaced evenly
* Installing waterproofing systems on designated surfaces (if required)
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
* Certificate IV in Wall and Floor Tiling, or certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling with on-the-job training or 2 years post qualification experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a skilled Wall and Floor Tiler
* Good practical skills
* The ability to follow design plans
* Accuracy and attention to detail
