Practice Information:
The Practice is a well-established, bulk-billing general practice serving the Lockyer Valley community in Queensland. It provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including families, older adults, and culturally diverse populations. Supported by a dedicated team of 3 Registered Nurses, 3 Reception Staff, and a Practice Manager, the centre delivers high-quality acute, chronic, and preventive health services, ensuring accessible care for the region’s patients.
Position Description:
The Practice is seeking an experienced and motivated General Practitioner enrolled in the Fellowship Support Program (FSP) at GPT3 level or above to join as an independent contractor. This role offers flexibility, strong supervision support, and the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while progressing toward Fellowship. The Contracting GP will provide comprehensive general practice services in accordance with RACGP standards, Medicare requirements, and FSP training obligations, within a supportive and well-resourced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based general practice care to patients of all ages
* Conduct consultations including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
* Manage acute and chronic conditions, preventative health, and health assessments
* Develop and review GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements where appropriate
* Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
* Work collaboratively with supervisors, nursing staff, and allied health professionals
* Comply with Medicare billing requirements and FSP training obligations
* Participate in clinical meetings, supervision, and professional development as required
Position Requirements:
Essential:
* General registration with AHPRA Enrolled in the Fellowship Support Program (FSP) at GPT3 level or above
* Eligible to practice in Australian general practice settings
* Current medical indemnity insurance
* Experience managing acute, chronic, and preventive care
* Proficiency in clinical software (MedicalDirector, Best Practice, etc.)
* Strong clinical competence and sound decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to patient-centred, ethical medical practice
Desirable:
* Working towards Fellowship of the RACGP Previous experience in community-based or primary care settings
* Interest in chronic disease management, preventative health, or priority populations
* Experience in bulk-billing or regional practice Skilled in chronic disease management, health assessments, and care plans
* Familiarity with Medicare billing and compliance
After Hours Requirements:
Yes – Saturdays once a month
