About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to join our team, based at our Willawong Depot. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position plays a critical role in identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and supporting revenue growth initiatives. The role requires regular intra and interstate travel, as it is essential to meeting with clients, attending site visits, and driving business growth across our operational footprint. You will work closely with our Depot Managers across Queensland and interstate locations, forming a cohesive unit focused on sales expansion and customer retention.
Key Tasks:
* Market Research & Lead Generation
Identify and evaluate prospective clients through strategic market analysis and industry networking to drive new business opportunities.
* Client Engagement & Relationship Building
Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. Act as a trusted advisor by understanding their operational needs and aligning Nolan’s services accordingly.
* Prepare and Deliver Proposals
Develop tailored quotations, service proposals, and capability statements in response to client requirements, tender invitations, or general enquiries.
* Pipeline & Opportunity Management
Maintain a proactive sales pipeline using CRM tools to track prospects, follow-ups, and conversion rates. Coordinate meetings, site visits, and presentations with key stakeholders.
* Quoting & Pricing Strategy
Prepare accurate and competitive quotes in consultation with internal stakeholders, ensuring profitability, service capability, and compliance are factored in.
* Client Onboarding Support
Collaborate with operations and depot teams to ensure a seamless transition for new clients, from initial engagement through to service implementation.
Skills/Abilities
* Proven experience preparing and presenting quotes, tenders, or client proposals in a B2B environment.
* Familiarity with cold chain logistics, cold storage or the broader transport sector is highly regarded.
* Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and capability statements.
* Strong attention to detail and a sound understanding of cost structures, margins, and pricing models.
* Competency in using CRM platforms and quoting systems.
* Confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and negotiating contracts or service agreements.
Hours
Monday to Friday - 7am to 5pm
