Techno Plas has over 35 years of industry leading experience in production innovation and advanced manufacturing of high-quality laboratory, medical and food packaging injection moulded products.
As a result of our significant business growth, we are seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team, based in our Adelaide facility, reporting to the QHSE and Food Safety Manager. You will be responsible for fostering and promoting an engaged culture of safety, sustainability and continuous improvement through developing and implementing EHS policies, procedures and strategies to mitigate workplace risks, ensuring that all staff are competent in safety procedures, and driving initiatives that contribute to Techno Plas' Environmental Sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain compliance with EHS legislation, codes of practice, environmental regulations and internal policies, as well as up to date WHS records, reports and documentation.
* Develop, implement, and review EHS policies, procedures, and risk management strategies to identify and mitigate workplace hazards, which will foster and promote an engaged culture of safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.
* Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments and support incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
* Coordinate and deliver EHS training and induction programmes for employees and contractors to ensure all staff are competent in safety procedures.
* Maintain EHS records including safety data sheets (SDS), training logs and incident registers alongside participating in internal and external audits.
* Support the QHSE and Food Safety Manager in driving EHS initiatives and improvements and the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO management systems (ISO 14001, ISO
* Drive actions that contribute to the achievement of Techno Plas' Environmental Sustainability objectives, including carbon footprint reduction, waste reduction and resource efficiency.
* Support emergency preparedness, including drills, first aid systems, and evacuation procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrable experience in a EHS or WHS role, in a manufacturing or food-grade environment desirable.
* Experience in environmental monitoring, driving sustainability projects particularly relating to carbon footprint reduction, and hands on injury management and return-to-work coordination experience highly preferable.
* Understanding of Australian WHS and Environmental legislation and risk management principles, and experience with incident investigation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite as well as EHS management systems.
* Experience with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 systems is highly regarded.
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety or Environmental Management or equivalent required.
* First Aid and Fire Warden certification desirable
