English Teacher (Permanent / Fixed Term) at Morley Senior High School, WA
We are seeking to establish a pool of English teachers for permanent and fixed‐term, full‐time and part‐time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence within this period.

* Demonstrate a strong, reflective approach to teaching that supports professional growth and has a demonstrable impact on student outcomes.
* Provide clear evidence of an understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and experience in developing and delivering that curriculum using a range of teaching models.
* Engage students across Years 7–12, effectively using information and communication technologies in the teaching of English.
* Possess knowledge of indigenous culture and language, and of contemporary and traditional cultures and languages, and integrate this understanding into teaching.
* Ability to manage and curate student led peer learning and service learning opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
* WA State Teacher registration and a qualifying teachers college qualification.
* Experience in teaching any of the following will be considered highly desirable: English (Lower school, ATAR and/or General), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (ATAR and/or General), English Literature (ATAR).
* Experience with the Western Australian Curriculum is highly desirable.
* Experience in curriculum development, assessment design and curriculum review.
* Excellent reputation for creating a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment and supporting student wellbeing.
* Knowledge of, and ability to facilitate, 'Student Voice', 'Student Agency', and 'Student Work' within the curriculum.
* Knowledge of interdisciplinary learning and creative ways to link the curriculum to real world contexts.
* Experience in lesson planning and preparing cluster lessons.
Eligibility
* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with appropriate work rights.
* Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before employment.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit.
