Role Description
This is an on-site, full-time role based in Port Melbourne, VIC, for the position of Traffic Controller. The Traffic Controller will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of traffic flow and pedestrian safety in compliance with specified traffic management plans. Daily tasks include setting up road signage, controlling traffic to ensure public and worker safety, adhering to operational procedures, and communicating effectively with team members and the public. The role requires working in outdoor conditions and adhering to safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
* Competency in Traffic Control and Traffic Management practices.
* Strong Communication skills for effective interaction with team members, clients, and the public.
* Proficiency in Operations Management and understanding of Traffic Guidance Schemes, Council Permits, and VicRoads MOAs.
* Knowledge of Road Traffic regulations and the ability to enforce compliance with safety standards.
* Physical fitness and the ability to work in outdoor environments for extended periods.
* Valid Traffic Control and Traffic Management certification is mandatory.
* A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are preferred.
* Prior experience in traffic management or related fields will be considered a significant advantage.
