About The Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a proactive and energetic Health & Safety Business Partner to join our national Health and Safety team, supporting our NSW Southern Region Concrete and Quarries business.

Reporting to a Business Unit General Manager and Head of Business Partnering Health and Safety, your primary focus is to support our Southern Region NSW Concrete and Quarries Business ensuring that business unit level issues are understood, controls are implemented and compliance and assurance measures reviewed. Working closely with the frontline, this is a key role in delivering strong alignment between operational risks and health and safety controls and will enable safety improvements and standardisation of processes across our network of NSW Quarries and Concrete Plants.

Operating as a true business partner, you will enjoy the opportunity to travel to various Quarries and Concrete Plants regularly to engage with leaders and employees on site, gaining a deep understanding of their challenges. This role involves creating learning opportunities from issues and incidents to enable more effective performance. Building strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver positive safety outcomes is essential.

This is a permanent, full-time role requiring flexibility to travel within Southern NSW, including the South Coast, Canberra, and Southern Highlands. A motor vehicle allowance will be provided. This is not a FIFO role, allowing you to enjoy weekends with your family.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support operational leaders in risk management activities.
2. Provide specialist health and safety advice, support, and coaching to build operational teams' capacity.
3. Assist in the rollout and implementation of the Boral Health & Safety Strategy and Business Unit Plan.
4. Manage incident response, analysis, and learning processes.
5. Prepare for and respond to HSE Regulatory Compliance inspections, audits, statutory reports, and incident notifications.
6. Facilitate the implementation of the HSEQ Management System & National Programs.
7. Ensure completion of Assurance Audits and monitor the closure of WHS actions.

What Are We Looking For?

1. A positive, proactive attitude and a commitment to partnering with operational teams.
2. Proven experience in a similar role, with strong incident investigation skills.
3. Experience in high-risk environments, ideally within a quarry setting.
4. Experience in implementing organizational change within complex environments.
5. Knowledge of WHS regulations, systems, and processes.
6. Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety.
7. Excellent interpersonal, emotional intelligence, and communication skills with the ability to build relationships.
