Overview
The Mental Health Triage Clinical Nurse Role is pivotal to the mental health service, representing the first point of contact for people seeking assistance. The Clinical Nurse practices autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team to provide mental health services within a rural / remote health service setting. The clinical nurse is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research, and assumes professional leadership when working within a multidisciplinary team. The role supports a patient-centered approach to care, improving how the mental health service engages with patients, the community, and the broader health service.
Roma is the largest town in the Maranoa Region, serving a catchment population of about 14,000. Roma hosts a hospital with a wide range of services and a strong community spirit, offering many lifestyle and recreation opportunities within a rural setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide mental health services autonomously within a multidisciplinary team in a rural / remote setting.
- Maintain a portfolio with focus areas in clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research.
- Assume professional leadership in a multidisciplinary environment and apply critical thinking across all domains.
- Promote patient-centered care and contribute to how the service engages with patients, the community, and the wider health service.
