The Opportunity
IMDEX is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to provide strategic leadership, governance, and people leadership across our global digital portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring software delivery aligns with business strategy, product direction, and organisational priorities—while building a high‐performing, cohesive engineering capability.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the end‐to‐end health of software delivery across assigned teams or portfolios. You will work in close partnership with Product, Architecture, and senior stakeholders to ensure delivery outcomes are predictable, high quality, and strategically aligned.
You will lead teams, set clear standards, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Aligning software delivery roadmaps with business strategy in partnership with product and business stakeholders creating a positive culture through leading, mentoring, and developing software engineering teams, removing blockers and enabling high performance
* Providing governance over engineering standards, shared components, frameworks, and delivery practices
* Balancing delivery speed, quality, cost, risk, and long‐term technical health
* Ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements
* Driving continuous improvement across processes, tooling, and engineering capability
* Managing external delivery partners and maintaining strong cross‐functional stakeholder relationships
* Communicating delivery progress, risks, and issues with clarity and transparency
* Taking accountability for delivery outcomes (including budget) while promoting a culture of ownership, collaboration, and excellence

Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
* Significant experience in software development or a closely related technical field
* Demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams or delivery portfolios
* Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies
* Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple organisational levels
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capability
* Strong organisational skills with a passion for mentoring and people development
* Experience working within a global organisation
* Background in mining technology, industrial, or complex enterprise environments
