HR Business Partner - 12-Month On-Hire Assignment
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support a major global organisation in their Australian operations. This is a 12-month on-hire assignment, ideal for a self-sufficient HR professional who can operate as the sole HR presence in Melbourne while collaborating with a manager based overseas.
About the Role
Working as part of a wider global HR team, you will support a key business portfolio and contribute to the organisation's people strategy. This role suits an HR generalist comfortable managing a broad range of responsibilities with moderate complexity, providing guidance, coaching, and operational HR support across all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advice to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
Support leaders with organisational and individual effectiveness issues.
Develop and deliver leadership coaching, team development, and cultural initiatives.
Prepare and deliver training materials to enhance leadership capability.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, supporting strategic HR and D&I initiatives.
Oversee communication activities for the local business unit.
Create and execute change management and communication plans for project work.
Ensure compliance with relevant labour laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
What We're Looking For
Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience in Human Resources.
Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and best practice.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills across all levels.
High level of confidentiality and sound judgement.
Strong capability in analysing situations, making informed decisions, and managing risk.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Workday, Teams, or SharePoint desirable.
Exposure to total rewards processes beneficial.
