12 month Role You have a strong desire to influence the organisation’s management of financial crime compliance You are a logical thinker who solves problems We are an innovative, diverse and ‘People’ culture team supporting flexible work practices See yourself in our team Our Bankwest Financial Crime Compliance Advisory team provides advice to the Bankwest business on all financial crime matters and oversees Bankwest’s implementation of the Group’s financial crime frameworks as well as compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Do work that matters Reporting to our Executive Manager Bankwest Financial Crime Compliance, your role as Senior Manager Financial Crime Compliance will be to provide services to support the Group in the effective and efficient management of financial crime. This will mean working closely with our stakeholders and colleagues to provide financial crime related advice on projects, transactions, products, channels etc. You will be required to forge strong relationships with business stakeholders, members of the broader FCC team (including other business unit aligned Advisory teams), Financial Crime Operations teams and other risk management disciplines to drive effective outcomes. On any given day, you will: Become a trusted partner to internal stakeholders across Bankwest where you support them to proactively identify, mitigate and manage the financial crime risks of the business. Provide specialist advice, opine on complex financial crime matters and participate in relevant risk assessments/reviews and committees as required. This includes (but is not limited to) the provision of financial crime related advice on KYC, risk mitigation, change projects, transaction monitoring, products, channels and customer and third-party relationships. Assist in the execution of financial crime compliance business plan and take ownership to drive outcomes. Assist the business and Group support functions to develop and execute appropriate action plans to address complex identified issues and incidents relating to financial crime. Lead a proactive risk and control culture using data where possible to generate insights and influence the development of controls. Lead and coach team members as appropriate. Prepare financial crime reporting and papers for relevant risk committees and forums. Analyse and interpret data where required to identify and respond to financial crime risks. Ensure maintenance of adequate auditable records of all risk assessments and advice provided. We are interested in hearing from people with: Experience in Risk Management or Financial Crime Compliance within Banking and Financial Services. Consulting, legal and law enforcement backgrounds will also be considered. In depth understanding of the financial crime regulatory framework with deep expertise in AML / CTF, Sanctions or Anti-Bribery and Corruption. Leadership experience. Excellent written and verbal communication and have the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Self-motivated and autonomous, ready to immerse yourself into the world of FCC. Tertiary qualification in Finance/Commerce /Law or a relevant industry certifications or accreditations (i.e. ACAMS) If you think you have the right skills and experience, we’d love to hear from you!
