Payroll & HR Officer | Full Time | Fixed Term

Founded in 1980, Christian College Geelong is a K-12 school where academic achievement is balanced with care and concern for each student's character development and wellbeing, grounded in the Christian faith. We have five campuses across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast region as well as a rural experience for Year 9 students at an expansive farm property in Scotsburn, near Ballarat, and a unique Art, Technology and Design campus for Senior School students in Waurn Ponds.

THE ROLE
As the Payroll & HR Officer, you will play a key role in managing the payroll process and supporting HR functions to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. You will work closely with the Finance and HR teams to maintain accurate employee records and process payroll efficiently and effectively.
The position is full-time and fixed term until the end of March 2026 to commence ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process and manage payroll, including wages, deductions, and benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
· Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and HR databases.
· Support onboarding processes and administer leave entitlements.
· Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, including superannuation and tax obligations.
· Generate payroll reports and assist with audits.
· Administer employee benefits such as salary packaging and superannuation.
· Maintain and update payroll systems and collaborate on system upgrades.
· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within payroll processes.
· Provide administrative support to HR and Payroll functions.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in Payroll & HR administration or a related role.
* A strong understanding of HR and payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
* Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
