Position Available:
P Breyer-Menke & D.R MENKE & P.A RING (ROMA BAR) is seeking passionate full-time baristas to join our front-of-house team. Our café is renowned for excellent coffee, fresh breakfasts, and satisfying lunches served seven days a week — and we’d love you to help us deliver that same warm, welcoming experience to every guest. As a barista, your responsibilities include preparing and serving quality coffee and beverages, taking customer orders with care, and maintaining a clean, inviting workspace. We’re looking for individuals who are friendly, reliable, and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Previous barista or hospitality experience is preferred, but above all, we value a love for great coffee, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
1. Crafting and serving beverages: Preparing quality coffee drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, espresso specialties), as well as cocktails, mixed drinks, bottled/canned beverages, and non-alcoholic options.
2. Food and snack service: Selling and serving light snacks while supporting our all-day breakfast and lunch menu.
3. Customer service & sales: Greeting guests, taking orders accurately, promoting café products, and ensuring a warm, welcoming experience.
4. Cash handling: Processing transactions efficiently and operating the cash register with precision.
5. Bar & coffee station upkeep: Cleaning and maintaining service areas, espresso machines, equipment, glassware, and ensuring high presentation standards.
6. Stock & supply management: Restocking fridges, shelves, and dispensers, arranging bottles and glasses neatly, tapping kegs, attaching supply lines, and selecting and grinding quality coffee beans.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a barista or in a similar café/hospitality role.
2. Strong English skills, with confident verbal and written communication.
3. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
4. Basic computer literacy, with the ability to use POS systems or scheduling tools.
5. Solid knowledge of coffee preparation and beverage service, including espresso-based drinks, menu recommendations, and general café service.
