Early Learning Assistant
About this role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support the education and care of our students in a Kindergarten setting.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Assist with classroom activities, including lesson preparation and resource organisation.
* Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, including those with additional needs.
* Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers.
* Support administrative tasks such as record-keeping and organising educational materials.
This term-time contract position is 15 hours per week (5-day fortnight, Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesday). The role reports directly to the Kindergarten Director or appointed responsible person and works closely with children, families, and the Early Learning & Care Manager.
What You Need To Succeed
* Current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act.
* Minimum Cert III in Children's Services (or working towards) or equivalent.
* A Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent (ACECQA-approved qualifications).
* Hold one of the following Child Protection competencies or willing to obtain.
* Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
* Understanding of and a commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school.
* Genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality in dealing with young people and their needs.
* Ability to work well individually or collaboratively in a team, accepting direction and support.
* Genuine care for the wellbeing of students.
* Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic educational setting.
