Senior Category Management - Commercial lead
For a leading national retailer
12 month contract
An exciting new role for a senior category manager - commercial lead has been created to ensure the local buying teams successfully transition to the new, group-aligned commercial ways of working. Specifically, the role involves:
* Change Advocacy & Leadership: Driving change as the primary local advocate and clearly articulating the strategic "why".
* Coaching & Influence: Coaching the team and driving the right outcomes with local buying teams to ensure they feel empowered and maintain momentum.
* Planning Alignment: Partnering with Commercial leadership to ensure local team bandwidth and daily activities are aligned with the program's objectives.
* Compliance: Ensuring compliance with commercial principles and verifying that buying teams adhere to all agreed-upon commercial outcomes and supplier posture post-range review.
* Fostering Collaboration: Role modeling the company values, collaborative mindset
In essence, you are the local driving force and trusted leader responsible for getting the commercial buying teams to successfully adopt the new unified strategy.
We are looking for a leader who:
* Has proven leadership experience within category management/senior buying experience that has worked across transformation and embedding processes in a complex scale business
* Unites senior, cross-functional leaders behind a single vision to drive transformative change in an ambiguous environment.
* Can lead through influence, build consensus without direct authority, and unite teams behind a shared vision and plan.
* Applies systems-thinking to identify interdependencies and knock-on effects across the value chain.
* Ability to work 3 days onsite, 2 from home
