**Multiple Analyst Roles - Pricing & Policy**

Join us in shaping the future of economic regulation, protecting consumers from monopoly pricing, and making a difference to the lives of people in NSW.
- We are looking for people with strong analytical and communication skills and experience in areas including economics, regulation, data science, and policy analysis
- Be part of a dynamic, diverse, and collaborative team dedicated to achieving impactful results on a variety of engaging projects
- Temporary roles (up to 2 years) within NSW Government, with the potential to extend (a talent pool may also be established)
- Full-time and part-time roles available
- Central Sydney location, with flexible working conditions and hybrid working options

**About the roles**:
We are looking for multiple Analysts to join collaborative and high performing teams within the Pricing and Policy Division at IPART.

As an Analyst, you will conduct qualitative and quantitative research to inform IPART reviews, consult with internal and external stakeholders, prepare research papers and briefings for senior leadership and make recommendations to inform policy development and price determinations.

The Pricing and Policy Division works across a range of sectors including water, energy, public transport, local government as well as other sectors requested by the NSW Government. Policy analysts regularly rotate across projects based on their interests and experience.

Some examples of current and future projects you may work on are:

- Determining maximum price limits for water utilities including Sydney Water, Hunter Water and WaterNSW, to ensure customers pay only what an efficient water utility would need to deliver high-quality, reliable, and safe water services
- Reviewing the methodology to set the limit on the total amount that NSW local councils can increase their income from rates each year
- Setting maximum fares for Opal public transport services, aiming to maximise the value NSW gets from its public transport network
- Reviewing the early childhood education and care sector in NSW and making recommendations to the NSW Government to improve accessibility, affordability and choice
- Developing a levy to fund the efficient cost of dams safety regulation in NSW.

Our Analysts typically have experience in a relevant field such as a public policy, economic and financial analysis or data analysis. As an IPART Analyst, you will undertake qualitative and quantitative research, liaise with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to research papers and briefings.

The salary ranges for these roles are:
Analyst, IPART Officer C: $90,133 - $98,717 per annum, plus superannuation

Analyst, IPART Officer D: $105,583 to $114,168 per annum, plus superannuation

**About you**:

- You are a goal-oriented self-starter who is keen to learn and can adapt to changing work priorities
- You are passionate about making a difference to the lives of people in NSW
- You are able to undertake research, analyse data and draw conclusions that contribute to policy development or price determinations
- You have effective written and verbal communication skills and can distil complex information into clear and concise briefings and presentations
- You are able to work well both independently and collaboratively within a team
- You are proficient at using Microsoft excel for data analysis and/or financial modelling
- You have tertiary qualifications in economics, business, finance, data science, engineering, environment, science, law or other relevant qualifications or equivalent demonstrated professional experience
