As part of the leadership team, the Business Manager will work in close partnership with the Principal and middle leaders, playing a key role in shaping strategic direction and ensuring the school operates effectively to meet the diverse needs of our students and community.
The Business Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the school's business functions, aligned to departmental requirements and the school's strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Leading financial management (budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring)
* Overseeing human resource processes and workforce planning
* Managing facilities, assets, and procurement
* The role also provides high-level advice to the Principal and leadership team, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and the implementation of streamlined administrative systems that support teaching and learning

Must Have' Skills And Experience
* Demonstrated experience in financial and resource management, including budgeting and reporting
* Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and administrative processes within a complex organisation
* Proven ability to lead, manage, and build capability within administrative teams
* Highly developed organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence others
* Capacity to use data and systems to inform planning, prioritisation, and continuous improvement
Nice To Have' Skills And Experience
* Experience within an education setting, particularly a Queensland state school
* Knowledge of Department of Education systems, policies, and procedures
* Experience in asset and facilities management
* Understanding of workforce planning and HR processes in a public sector context
* Ability to lead process improvement and drive efficiencies through systems and innovation
