The staff here at Open Playscapes have been building natural playgrounds for local councils for over 15 years. We deliver a high standard of workmanship, with a strong focus on quality, while maintaining a creative experience. We value our long term council relationships while also continuing to establish new customers within the local government and education sector. We are looking for two landscapers looking to expand their skills in to the commercial sector to support our teams and build our current and up and coming projects.
As the Managing Director, it is my commitment to my staff to create a strong team culture while remembering we all have families and need to maintain a work life balance. We do this by working a four and half day week. Finishing at 12pm on a Friday every week allows our staff to get a jump on their weekend and unwind from work before the kids get home or load the car to get away for the weekend.
We are preferred contractors with several councils which ensures solid work volume all year round.
About the role
The key tasks involved in this role are:
* Working with a team of 6 staff or independently as required
* Operating within project budgets with support from your foreman
* Organisation and supervision of our long term sub contractors on site
* Quantifying and ordering of project materials
* Communicating clearly and respectfully with our customers and local community members
* Providing guidance, mentoring and training to our apprentices
* Having a positive attitude at all times and have a 'can do' solutions based approach to tasks and unexpected issues
