Position Information
Wyrallah Road Public School is situated in East Lismore on the North Coast of New South Wales. The school has an enrolment of 354 students (including 17% Aboriginal students), from K-6, and is part of the Lismore Community of Schools feeding into The Rivers Secondary College. The school emphasises inclusive education, Positive Behaviour for Learning, EAL/D, and a range of student programs. Technology is a focus area with interactive whiteboards, computers and iPads in every classroom. The school values strong partnerships with families and the local community and supports staff in professional learning and resourcing to meet diverse learning needs.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Library (Primary) or currently undertaking or enrolled in Library (Primary) qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with the ability to deliver high-quality release from face-to-face programs.
- Evidence of highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, enhance practice, and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and the wider community.
- Well-developed skills in managing student behaviour, engagement and wellbeing, with a proven capacity to support students from diverse backgrounds.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
This is a permanent part-time position of 4 days per week, 0.8 FTE. If applicable, engagement will be temporary until the successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, to be completed within 24 months.
