Title of Position: Year 6 Middle College Classroom Teacher 
Type of Appointment: Permanent Commencing Jan 2026 
Pacific Lutheran College is a leading K-12 learning community established in 2001, located in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. The college emphasizes excellence across academic, sporting and cultural dimensions, with enrichment programs and a whole-of-life learning culture grounded in Lutheran Education in Australia. The school supports personalised learning across Kindergarten to Year 12 and encourages staff collaboration within four subgroups: Foundation College (K–2), Junior College (3–5), Middle College (6–9) and Senior College (10–12). 
Role Context 
The classroom teacher will report to the Head of Learning Middle College and Head of Student Engagement Middle College and contribute to strengthening the college culture in several areas described below. 
Role Description 
Strengthening Lutheran Identity 
Support and contribute to the growth of a strong Christian faith community through personal example and professional leadership, including participation in chapels and staff devotions. 
Enhancing Excellence in Teaching and Learning 
Design and implement teaching and learning programs using contemporary curriculum, assessment and reporting practices; apply current content knowledge and teaching strategies to develop engaging activities; align with QCAA syllabuses for foundation to senior years; plan effective learning experiences; monitor and plan using data; model high levels of pedagogical practice and collaboration; create structured sequences that engage students and promote learning; improve literacy and numeracy outcomes; select and create resources including ICT; participate in assessment moderation; provide timely feedback; differentiate to meet diverse learner needs; establish a safe, inclusive learning environment with strong pastoral care; support restorative and wellbeing initiatives; maintain orderly routines; contribute to a culture of thinking. 
Engage in Ongoing Improvement and Innovation 
Engage in ongoing professional learning aligned to College priorities; participate in professional discussions to evaluate practice; engage in reflection, collaborative planning, monitoring and review. 
Community Building 
Foster learning partnerships with students, staff, parents and the wider community; communicate with parents about learning needs; conduct conferences; act professionally; support the College co-curricular program. 
Leading Effective Organisation and Management 
Adhere to departmental and College policies; attend and contribute to staff meetings; implement the College teaching and learning program consistent with QCAA requirements; assess and report on student performance; maintain student profiles and portfolios; prioritise health and safety and wellbeing. 
Workplace Health and Safety 
All staff must comply with the School’s WHS Manual and statutory requirements to protect health and safety for all at the workplace and the public. This includes performing work safely, following instructions, reporting injuries, participating in safety activities, maintaining housekeeping standards, following hazard instructions, wearing appropriate PPE, and being aware of hazards when performing tasks. Assist with risk assessments and accident investigations as required.

- SC 3 Innovation and Continuous Improvement – Commit to reflective practice, ongoing enhancement of teaching and learning, and willingness to innovate and engage with current educational research to improve outcomes and engagement in the Middle College. 
- SC 4 Learning Partnerships and Wellbeing – Build strong partnerships with students, parents and colleagues; foster a protected, inclusive, positive learning environment with high-quality pastoral care. 
- SC 5 Professionalism and Collegial Contribution – Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability and collaboration within a dynamic P–12 community; engage in ongoing professional learning and sharing of best practice. 
- SC 6 Co-Curricular Involvement – Contribute to co-curricular life including sport, arts, service learning and cultural events. 
Conditions 
Salary and related conditions are as per the Teachers’ (Non-Government Schools) Award in conjunction with the current Lutheran Schools’ Enterprise Agreement. Teachers must possess or be eligible for registration within Queensland.
