Electrical Maintenance Specialist Role
This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure by performing routine and corrective maintenance, fault repairs, and adhering to technical specifications.
* Maintenance activities will be carried out using best practices, and accurate records of asset conditions, maintenance activities, and costs must be kept.
* The successful candidate will report completed work against the scheduled program and contribute to the development of work procedures for continuous quality improvement.
A mandatory Electrical Trade qualification or equivalent is required. Proficiency in computer use is also necessary. Strong commitment to safe working practices, as well as strong interpersonal communication skills, are essential.
Holding experience in repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock is highly valued. Demonstrated fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings, are required. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act, is also necessary.
