The Role

Join our team as a Community Grants Officer and play a key role in supporting local initiatives through Council's grant programs. In this role, you will manage the full grant lifecycle, from promotion and application support to assessment, funding agreements and acquittals. You will ensure processes are efficient, transparent and community focussed. You'll be the first point of contact for applicants, providing clear advice on eligibility and guidelines and helping connect community groups with the resources they need to succeed.

We're looking for someone who thrives on organisation and problem-solving, with the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams. You'll oversee timelines, maintain accurate records, prepare reports and ensure compliance with policies and legislation. If you're passionate about community development, have strong communication skills and enjoy delivering exceptional customer service, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

Skills and Qualifications

* Experience in administering grants and funding programs, with local government experience highly regarded.
* A qualification in business administration, project management, community development and/or a related local government discipline.
* A solid understanding of legislation, policies, procedures and standards relevant to grant management.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes on time.
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks to meet deadlines.
* Experience using the SmartyGrants system and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word and Excel) and confidence in managing email and calendar systems.
* Possession of a current "C" Class drivers licence
