About the Role
Australian United Retailers' is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in our South Wharf, office. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial accounting and reporting services to support the strategic objectives of our organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
* Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports to support decision-making and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
* Assist with the month-end close process, including the reconciliation of accounts and the preparation of journal entries
* Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial models
* Contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting processes and controls
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide financial information and advice
* Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required
What We're Looking For
* A degree in Accounting or a related field, and a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA or CA)
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry
* Strong technical accounting skills, with a deep understanding of financial reporting standards and regulations
* Proficient in the use of financial software and spreadsheet applications
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
