About the Position: This position is primarily responsible for overseeing case management and providing special education services and supports to students with academic and executive functioning IEP goals. The ideal candidate will have strong instructional skills in literacy, math, and executive functioning.
Full‐time, part of the teacher bargaining unit. Salary and benefits are part of the Master Agreement. Bachelor's degree; Special Education ABS or LD teaching license or ability to obtain appropriate license from PELSB.
Preferred Experience
Ability to teach students with significant needs in social, emotional, behavioral and academic domains utilizing a progression of interventions. Passion for creating dynamic engaging program environments that provide direct instruction to diverse learning needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Identify the needs of assigned students with disabilities through formal and informal assessments
* Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
* Communicate with students, parents and staff on a regular basis on student progress
* Write IEP's (Individual Educational Plans) and other due process documents in accordance to MDE regulations
* Lead and facilitate IEP meetings
* Create and implement behavior intervention plans
* Attend department, school and parent meetings
* Provide program guidance to paraprofessionals
* Salary placement is based on experience and education level, as per district guidelines.
