DigiVol Lab Coordinator

About the Project

The Collection Enhancement Project (CEP) is the Australian Museum's digitisation program, aiming to standardise and streamline digitisation activities across the Museum. The CEP is managed within two streams – Natural Science collections and Cultural collections – based on the specialised requirements and expertise needed to digitise such varied collection material. DigiVol forms part of the Collection Enhancement Project (CEP) focussing on digitising the Natural Science and Archive collections across the museum.

About the Role

This is a job share, three-day-per-week role focused on overseeing the daily operations of the DigiVol Lab, including supervising onsite volunteers and coordinating digitisation projects.

Employment Status:

* Clerk Grade 5/6
* Fixed Term until 30 June 2030
* Part-time 3 days per week

You will be paid a competitive total remuneration package of $113,429 - $125,157, including an annual salary of $99,938 - $110,271 plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading.

About you

We are seeking a DigiVol Lab Coordinator with demonstrated experience in working with volunteers as well as knowledge of collections and digitisation.

Knowledge and Experience

o Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing volunteers.
o Demonstrated capacity to develop, document and implement processes for effective digitisation of collections.
o Demonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of digitising equipment and associated databases.
o Good communication skills and ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
o Demonstrated basic knowledge and understanding of the application of Work Health and Safety (WH&S) legislation and regulations.

Essential requirements

o Tertiary qualification in biological sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
