About Us
Hopkins Correctional Centre provides accommodation for sentenced and unsentenced with protection requirements in an open campus environment, combining community-style prison design with the Better Living Model (an innovative case management model for prisoner management).
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, the Finance Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing a team of Justice Officers ensuring the delivery of high quality, efficient financial services to Hopkins Correctional Centre.
This position may require direct prisoner contact, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2024.
Duties
* Providing detailed financial analysis, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting advice to the Finance Supervisor and regional managers for allocated cost centres.
* Assisting the Regional Finance Team in facilitating the implementation of the annual budget development process for the region.
* Providing support and leadership to regional managers to enable them to utilise financial and procurement systems.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in financial management, in particular analysis and reporting, and utilisation of financial management systems.
* Demonstrated experience in compiling performance reports and improving processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
* Strong team management and team building skills.
