About the role
Groom & Lavers are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Conveyancing Paralegal/Secretary to join their growing team in Toowoomba, Queensland. This full-time position (or part time for the right candidate) will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's conveyancing practice, with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing administrative support to conveyancing solicitors, including drafting and preparing documents, preparing correspondence and searches and file management
2. Liaising with clients and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient conveyancing process
3. Conducting property searches, preparing settlement statements, and coordinating settlement
4. Assisting with the general day-to-day operations of the conveyancing team
5. Developing a strong understanding of conveyancing practices, legislation, and procedures
What we're looking for
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
2. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and work to deadlines
3. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently
4. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant legal software
5. A genuine interest in the legal industry and a willingness to learn and grow within the role
6. Relevant experience in a legal or administrative role, or a willingness to undertake further training
7. An assistant to attend to prepartion of legal docouments and correspondence
