We're seeking a passionate and experienced Specialist Counsellor to join our Domestic and Family Violence Team in Darwin. This identified position is open to women and gender diverse people. This role is perfect for someone ready to bring their skills to a place where they can truly make a meaningful impact

* Location: Darwin | office & remote
* Contract: Full-Time | Ongoing
* Award: SCHADS Award 2010 – Level 6
* Salary: $55.72 to $58.19 an hour + Super
* Benefits: Salary packaging up to $18,550

About the team

The Gendered Violence and Family Programs Team provided a vital role in supporting cis, non-binary and gender diverse women and their families impacted by domestic and family violence. Joining our Gendered Violence and Family Programs Team means becoming part of a passionate group committed to trauma-informed, client-centred care and meaningful social change.

About the role

We are seeking a talented Specialist Counsellor to provide one-on-one and group-based counselling supporting cis, non-binary and gender diverse women domestic and family violence, focused on improving safety and wellbeing.

In this role you will:

* Deliver one-on-one and group counselling using evidence-based, strengths-focused approaches
* Provide specialist support and guidance to the Gendered Violence and Family Programs team
* Assist with reporting, data collection, and compliance with funding and organisational requirements
* Build collaborative relationships with external agencies to strengthen service delivery
* Model YWCA values through safe, inclusive practices and continuous improvement
* Participation in the after-hours on-call roster.

About You

The ideal applicant will have:

* Strong knowledge and practical application of counselling theories and approaches
* Experience supporting individuals and their families impacted by domestic and family violence
* Empathetic communicator with the ability to build strong therapeutic relationships
* Skilled in building trust-based relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders
* Passionate about intersectional feminism, women's rights, and driving social change
