About This Role
A highly skilled and motivated individual is required to lead the Sporting Reserve Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering maintenance and renovation programs across all Latrobe City Sporting Reserves, ensuring high-quality playing surfaces for local, regional and elite sporting events.
The role involves proactive planning, procurement of materials and contractors, and leadership of a team to achieve key sports turf maintenance practices. Strong customer service skills are essential to ensure requests are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Additionally, the successful candidate will promote a positive culture of Occupational Health and Safety, adhering to relevant requirements and minimizing public risk. Regular objective setting and performance review is also a key aspect of this role, identifying training opportunities for improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the presentation, livability and safety of our community through the delivery of sports turf maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or equivalent qualification in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management or a related field, and/or extensive experience in these areas of operations. A detailed knowledge of playing surface requirements for each respective sport is also essential, with the ability to provide advice and training to others. Other desirable qualifications include a current Chemical Spraying license, Victorian driver's license and industry white card.
